Thursday NewsCenter 16 showed you how to get your taxes done for free with help from the United Way, but you can also find help paying those winter heating bills.
Through a local grant, those who qualify, can get a $50 match each month when you pay $50 on your heating bill.
You have to be a St. Joseph County resident meet certain income requirements and take a free budgeting class.
The program runs through April and there is still time to sign up.
Dawn Chapla of United Way said, "Maybe they've just lost their job, maybe they have never had to ask for help before. This is a program that they should call about to see if they qualify."
