LaPorte County residents now can call the toll-free information line 211 to find social services where they can either receive or offer help.
Calls can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It may be dialed on cell phones or land lines.
And starting Friday, the public will be able to access the Web site www.myuw211.org to search for the same resources or to do a live chat with the 211 staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central time) Mondays through Fridays.
